Polina is the Founder and Director of PK Law. She founded PK Law in 2024 after having spent eight years working in specialist private client law firms.
She began her career at Brookfields Lawyers in 2016. Since the very start of her legal career, Polina has specialised in the field of trust, estate and relationship property law.
Polina's passion for trust law was ignited during her university studies, particularly through a trust law course and the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates. This interest deepened with the guidance of her first law mentor, from whom she learned a lot of what she practices today. The interplay between relationship property and trust law is a particular area of enthusiasm for Polina.
Polina has been published in the New Zealand Law Journal and regularly publishes in the International STEP Journal. She is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), having completed the STEP Advanced Diploma in Trusts and Estates in 2017, as well as the Advanced Certificate in Cross-Border Estates in 2022. Additionally, Polina is an active member of the Auckland Women Lawyers' Association and served as a committee member of the ADLS Trust Law Committee for the 2022-2024 term.
In her own words, Polina enjoys assisting clients with all aspects of family succession planning and dispute resolution, particularly in matters concerning the division of relationship property, trusts, and estates. As a fluent Russian speaker, she frequently assists clients from the Russian-speaking community, both in New Zealand and overseas, who require legal support regarding New Zealand matters.
Polina treats every case—big or small—with the same level of respect and diligence. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her partner and children, hitting the gym for a weight session, or going for long walks. Family is her greatest asset, and she understands the importance of a personal approach when addressing her clients' issues. While she may not be one for small talk, rest assured that she engages with each client's matter as if it were the most important on her list.
